Editorial Studio Bridal Shoot – Dallas

At The Lumen Room in Dallas, we decided to cultivate an editorial studio bridal shoot that showcases the color orange! Orange can feel scary when planning your wedding, so our goal was to show how a bride could use the color orange paired with beautiful fruits. Our great friend, Allie with Feisty Florals did an incredible job at creating a floor piece, a table piece, and a bridal bouquet. I told Allie I wanted to somehow incorporate orange fruits into the florals, so being her creative self, she added kumquats and tangerines throughout the florals to give a fresh look as well as show that fruit CAN be added! It was giving us Santorini vibes for sure!

The most beautiful thing about The Lumen Room studio in Dallas is that the natural lighting is phenomenal. For this editorial shoot, we wanted to utilize the use of natural lighting instead of artificial lighting. The natural lighting is unmatched again artificial and every time we have been at this studio, the lighting is so great. In addition, The Lumen Room has so many beautiful pieces of furniture; one of our favorites is the pink chair featured below!

Katy tried on one dress at Flutter Dallas and she knew that this dress was the exact one she wanted. It complimented her well and the dress also had a few features that we knew would be showcased with the orange floral arrangements as a canvas; the shear sleeves, the cuffed detail with buttons near the wrist, and the layered neckline all present a unique look. This dress by Sarah Alouache is a class act and we loved how we got to pretend we were in Italy for a moment…haha!!

We kept the jewelry and shoes very simple because we knew the dress did it all. Daniela did a fantastic job with Katy’s makeup and only enhanced the beauty that Katy already has.

With an editorial studio bridal shoot, we loved that we got to really slow down and focus on intentionally posing Katy to reflect a classic vibe. We couldn’t let the day go by without a coupe glass filled with our favorite champagne and with a stain of Katy’s lipstick on the side.

This editorial bridal studio shoot at The Lumen Room was truly so many people coming together to showcase their craft and it was exciting to plan and execute!
